hi i hav pendin charges (assault an battery) an my court appointed attorney advised me 2 contact tha clerk of court criminal division an pay them 2 or 3 hundred bucks an then everything under 18 will b wiped clean plus everything prior 2 seven yrs ago will also b wiped clean. i called tha clerk of court criminal division an they said i had 2 hire an attorney 2 get my records expunged. so i dont kno wat tha deal is? so, wat do i need 2 do? wat kind of expungement can i get (juvenile & prior 2 seven yrs)? how much will it cost? can i do it with pendin criminal charges? also, my court appointed attorney says that i cannot get sum1 4 defamation of character in NC. i hav a restrainin order [legal written document] against me statin that i’m bipolar an i hav a DR’s note statin i’m not, so they made a false statement ’bout my mental condition which in effect caused a restrainin order against me plus assault an battery charges. but my court appointed attorney is sayin i cant get sum1 4 statin that on paper. he is only gettin pain by tha gov’t 4 my assault an battery charge, not the restrain order, or expungement. he’s a new attorney who has only been practicin since october so i’m wonderin if he’s not expirienced enuff. can i get a new court appointed attorney? thnx

I know of several inmates that are incarcerated within the Durham County Jail in the state of North Carolina that were to have their files expunged since they were minors under the age of 16y.o. and have not had the information strickened or removed from their records within the Durham County Court House or within the State of North Carolina.
Why do the lawyers and judges complete the paperwork only to go through the motions (but nothing is effectively being deleted off of or updated on the Durham County Jail’s computer system) within the state of North Carolina?
As I see it, this is only a ploy to keep inmates incarcerated within the system to help fund more greedy bastards for job security. The inmates have already did the time for the crime, it’s bad enough that when they get out of jail, no one wants to give them a chance for employment.
How much of the criminal background do we know of immigrants migrating to this country? We don’t.
