I would like to know if I had my criminal record sealed by the court would the company be able to see a sealed record? or will nothing show up at all?

Also, if the record is sealed does this still retain the arrest record? Meaning if I have a sealed record, and I have an arrest for theft, will the employer be able to put two and two together?

I was a reference for someone who had spent 1 year in a county jail, in the early 80’s. He said he did a SLED check in his state and it came back zero. And he got a first offender pardon and he was told the records in the courthouse would have been purged after 10 years.
His application was not approved but no reason. He knows his references were good, so how would he do a more thorough search of his criminal record than what he has already done. He is concerned that the event of 25+ years ago is following him around. I guess beyond SLED, which is state law enforcement dept., could there be an FBI file or other file lingering out there?

The guy has done nothing to make me even believe he was guilty of anything back then. And he says his lawyer knew he was not guilty. Guilty or not, what other searches can he do and how?

I just want to know when an employer does a criminal records check, how far back to they usually look? Do they look in just the state for which you are applying, just the city, just the county, or is it nationwide? What are some of the crimes that most employers just will not accept.

I am just wondering if I have pending crimincal charges that are infront of the courts right now if they will show up on my criminal record search. I am in Canada and am 18…the charges showed up when I was 15.

Recently the court granted my record to be expunged, but when i pay for a criminal background check on myself, it came back as records found and the detail of the crime was listed. the website is intelius.com…. I was only 15 at the time of conviction, i did my time, and discharge Honorable from parole. the court order my record to be expunged.! im 25 now, every job i apply for turn away from me, even with the recent record expunged. my question is… will my records always be there .? or it takes time for these private profit companies to realized from the court that my record has been expunged, and take the record off thier database.?
