unfortunately, some websites advertise ‘free background checks’ as a misleading marketing tactic.

You CAN , however, look up court records for free if those are available in your state / county. this was submitted to Reddit a while back regarding free court records and other options for looking up criminal records:

Your not going to find one that will give you any information without paying for it. Its like carfax except for people. They are a business and are trying to make money, back ground checks probably cost the website money to do as well.

Talk to an Army recruiter. You do have to disclose your record, but depending on what it is you might only need a waiver to join.

Work somewhere else please, I still have pride in the military, we don’t need you. Look elsewhere.

Uncle Sam sees all. YOU MUST DISCLOSE IT. if you fail to do so they WILL find it when they start the Clearance paperwork, and you will most DEFINITELY not become an officer then.

as to whether or not it will disqualify you, I do not know. But lying about it WILL. the Army may see the conditional discharge as the same as a conviction( they have different standards than civilian courts).

It’s the Army. They’ll take anybody, provided they aren’t gay.
